Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics

At the Sinergi International Journal of Logistics, ethical publishing is our cornerstone. We are resolute in our commitment to prevent publication malpractice and uphold the highest ethical standards. This commitment is actively enforced by the COPE Code of Conduct for Journal Editors, who maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy for unethical conduct.

Ethical Guidelines and Responsibilities:

  1. Adherence to COPE: All participants in the publication process must follow the COPE Code of Conduct for Journal Editors. Comprehensive guidelines are accessible on the COPE website under Core Practices.
  2. Authorship Integrity:
    • Authors are presumed to have agreed to content and submission processes.
    • Contribution statements are published for transparency.
    • Changes to authorship require unanimous approval and are prohibited post-acceptance.
    • ORCID IDs are encouraged for author identification.
  3. Disclosure and Transparency:
    • Authors must disclose funding, interests, and ethical approvals.
    • AI-generated content must be clearly described in methods.
    • Conflicts of interest, including research grants, employment, and non-financial interests, must be declared.
  4. Ethical Responsibilities:
    • Authors must maintain scientific integrity and correct significant errors.
    • Reviewers should provide objective, well-supported opinions and maintain confidentiality.
    • Editors are responsible for content quality, fair decision-making, and maintaining the integrity of the academic record.
  5. Confidentiality and Privacy:
    • All journal communications are confidential unless explicitly stated otherwise.
    • Post-publication name changes are handled discreetly.
  6. Dispute Resolution:
    • Authors are expected to resolve authorship disputes internally.
    • Unresolved disputes may result in manuscript withdrawal.
  7. Special Considerations:
    • Inclusion of deceased or incapacitated authors requires legal approval.
    • Journal staff involved in manuscript preparation are excluded from editorial decisions.

Complaints and Appeals Process:

  1. Initial complaints are handled by the Editor-in-Chief or handling editor.
  2. Scientific content appeals involve assessment of author arguments and reviewer reports.
  3. Process complaints are investigated to improve procedures.
  4. Publication ethics complaints follow COPE guidelines, with potential external consultation.
